The Development of Flip Book Maker Based E-module as Learning Media for Beginner’s English Course

Abstract

Courses are a quick way for students to learn about concepts or skills held in schools focused on meeting society’s needs in a commercial or industrial environment. Learning modules commonly used in courses are still conventional. Based on these conditions, this study intends to provide learning media for a beginner’s English course using a Flip Book based E-Module. This study used a qualitative research approach with Research and Development Level 1 according to Sugiyono. This study uses a literature review, an interview, and a questionnaire to collect data. Interviews are used to determine module needs by adjusting the needs of the teacher. Module quality was found through a literature review. The phases involved are needs analysis, planning research, and initial product development. The results of the research include the components needed by the module according to the teacher’s needs, the module's characteristics based on experts' opinions, and learning modules adapted to the teacher’s needs. The module that has been developed is then validated by an expert, through a validation sheet in the form of a questionnaire with 46 assessment items. Product validation results show 92.6, which is in the "Very Good" category for Flip Book based E-Module products
